Our School Council plays a vital role in the governance and ongoing success of our school. Meeting regularly throughout the school year, the Council provides essential support and guidance in key areas of school operation and development.
Council Composition
The School Council is made up of:
- Seven elected parent members
- Three staff representatives
- The School Principal
Members are elected by ballot for a two-year term, with elections held during Term 1 each year. Ms Brooke Jones currently serves as our School Council President.
Council meetings are held twice per term, on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm, at the school.
Roles and Responsibilities
The School Council works in partnership with the school leadership team, focusing on several core areas:
- Strategic Planning: Developing, monitoring, and reviewing the school’s long-term strategic direction.
- Policy Development: Creating, reviewing, and updating key school policies.
- Financial Management: Approving the annual budget, monitoring expenditure, and supporting fundraising initiatives.
- Community Engagement: Fostering strong connections with the broader school community and encouraging parent involvement.
- Compliance: Ensuring the school meets all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Subcommittees
To support its work, the School Council operates several subcommittees, including:
- Education Policy

- Parents, Teachers & Friends Association (PTFA)
Additional subcommittees may be formed to manage special projects as needed.
School Council membership is a significant commitment, and we are deeply appreciative of the time, expertise, and care our members contribute. Together we are dedicated to making our school the best it can be for every student, staff member and family in our community.
