At the start of this week, we utilised our Student Free Day to engage in professional learning aligned with our teaching and learning priorities, while also beginning to plan ahead for new curriculum initiatives in 2027.
We are fortunate to have a wealth of expertise across our distributed leadership team, and our staff work collaboratively to share knowledge, strengthen practice and collectively drive improved outcomes for every student. This time provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on our current practices, build consistency across the school and ensure we are well prepared to continue delivering high-quality learning experiences for all students.
Election commitment of more than $9 million to upgrade Regency Park Primary School
On 7th October 2026, Julie Buxton the Labor candidate for Bayswater, announced an election commitment of more than $9 million to upgrade building infrastructure at Regency Park Primary School, should Labor be elected at the upcoming state election. The proposed investment would support improvements to the school’s infrastructure, with the aim of enhancing learning environments for our students.
Last week, we welcomed Julie Buxton and Jackson Taylor, outgoing Member for Bayswater, as guests at our school assembly. Next week, we look forward to welcoming Anthony Kitchen, Liberal candidate for Bayswater, to assembly as part of our commitment to providing candidates with an opportunity to engage with our school community.
We remain committed to ensuring our school community is informed about proposals that may impact Regency Park Primary School and providing opportunities for all candidates to engage with our school in a fair and impartial manner.
Welcome 2027 Preps!
Last week, we welcomed our 2027 Prep students and their families to our first transition session. The students did an incredible job as they began exploring their new learning environment, meeting teachers and becoming familiar with what it means to start ‘big school’.
Our transition sessions play an important role in building confidence and helping our newest students feel comfortable and excited about beginning their learning journey at Regency Park Primary School.
We are also pleased to announce our 2027 Prep team: Tayla Goldspink, Jo Krawzyk, Jae Chang and Erica Warburton. Our Prep teachers will be supporting students and families throughout each transition session as we help make the journey to school a positive experience.
The students certainly looked the part in their ‘Ready for Regency’ t-shirts! We look forward to seeing them again at our upcoming transition sessions.
Our Preps and Year 5s – Make A Splash!
This week it was our Prep and Year Five students turn to jump in the pool for their swimming program.
For our Prep students, it is an exciting opportunity to begin developing these important life skills, while our Year 5 students continue to build their swimming ability, water safety awareness and confidence around the water.
We look forward to seeing our students grow in their independence and celebrate their progress throughout the program!
Respectful Behaviour on School Grounds
Unfortunately, we have recently experienced several disrespectful interactions involving high school aged students collecting younger siblings at school pick up or visiting our grounds after hours. While some of these students are former Regency Park students, others are friends accompanying at pick up.
We would like to remind our community that school grounds are not public spaces. For the safety of our school community, bicycles and e scooters must not be ridden on school grounds. Similarly, entering school buildings or using student toilets, which are reserved exclusively for our primary school students, is not permitted.
Our new after-hours school care program uses our grounds for supervised play. Staff may ask people on site after hours to move to a different area of the school grounds to ensure the safety and smooth operation of the program. We expect these requests to be acknowledged and followed respectfully.
Our School Code of Conduct applies to everyone visiting Regency Park Primary School. We expect all visitors to treat our staff respectfully and follow school expectations. Disrespectful, aggressive or unsafe behaviour towards staff will not be tolerated. Individuals engaging in such behaviour will be directed to leave the school grounds.
We appreciate the support of our families in reinforcing these expectations with older siblings and their friends to help ensure Regency Park remains a safe and respectful environment for our students, staff and wider community.

Every Child. Every Opportunity. With courage and commitment,
On Monday as part of our Curriculum Day, teachers and Education Support staff came together for a workshop exploring the various learning needs of all our students.
We recognise that giving every student the same support isn’t the same as giving every student what they need to access the same opportunity. This is the difference between equality and equity. A big part of our work this year has been strengthening how we understand and use reasonable adjustments, so that all our students can access learning to the highest standard.
Teachers, Education Support staff and specialists each see a different part of a child’s day, so bringing everyone together to build a shared understanding and a common language was the heart of the session. Staff valued having the opportunity to reflect on approaches already in place and opportunities to continue to develop our understanding and approach to inclusion.
This work is ongoing, and we’re proud of how our staff learn from each other and keep the needs of individual students at the centre. If there’s something that helps your child learn, please share it with their teacher. Your knowledge of your child makes our work stronger.
Our New School Values In Action
We are also continuing to explore our new school values and what they look like in different parts of school life, including classrooms, the yard, specialist programs and assemblies. Over the last 2 weeks classes have been focusing on the value of RESPECT and unpacking what this means to them in their day-to-day life as Regency Park students. Our Year 5s and 6s shared their work at assembly last week and what respect meant to them. Their responses included:
“Thinking about the best way to respond before you do…”
“Accepting that people might have different ideas…”
“Giving people your full focus when they’re talking to you…”
The Year 5 and 6 students have contributed some samples of their work around the value of Respect to our Values Display in the hall. You will continue to see this space grow as we explore our other school values of Responsibility, Courage and Personal Excellence.
See you around the school!

Celebrating Excellence
We also discovered who our newest Aussie Of The Month Award recipient was:
COMPASS changes for easy and clear communication from the office.
2026 Parent Payment via COMPASS
Instructions for making your payment will be provided from the office via Compass with the step-by-step guide for use on your phone or computer.
Punctuality in consent & payments on COMPASS
Thank you to all of our families who have already paid their family contributions. Please see our Business Manager, if you would like to undertake a payment plan for upcoming school costs.
Please note payments for the majority of school events/excursions will be processed via COMPASS.
Throughout the year there are many payments to be made for excursions, camps and swimming. It is very important that these payments are paid by the due date.
All events that require permission and payment will need to be made by the due date if you wish your child to participate.
Only in very extreme circumstances will we be able to process payments after this date, even if the excursion has not yet happened.
Unfortunately, this means your child misses out on the event.
From experience I know that parents can be quite upset when this occurs, so I ask you to be aware of this process and ensure that consent and payments are made via COMPASS on time.
If you have trouble accessing COMPASS or completing payments, please see our office staff who can assist you with the process.
