On Saturday, 29th August, sixteen of Regency’s students danced their hearts out as part of the Victorian State Schools Spectacular at John Cain Arena. The show was called ‘This Is Me’ and told a story about finding your way, trying new things, and ultimately being your best self. Regency’s Dance Crew, featured in seven dances, all with a different theme, costume and props. We could not be prouder of the dedication they showed by attending weekly rehearsals, practicing at home along with the videos and giving their all to the final event. The entire concert was performed twice on Saturday, to two almost sold-out stadiums, and our students delivered! Thank-you for being a special part of the 2026 Spectacular Olive, Summer, Jess, Mackenzie, Anna, Vincent, Stella, Louella, Isla, Lola, Evie, Zahra, Ella, Liam, Nina and Vivienne. I am sure it was an experience you will never forget!
A special mention to Mila O, who successfully auditioned to be one of the principal dancers in the State Schools Spectacular! This is a significant achievement and a wonderful recognition of Mila’s hard work. Being selected has meant many additional rehearsals for Mila, along with the exciting opportunity to perform on stage as part of such a talented team. We are incredibly proud of Mila and it was a joy to see her shine on stage!
None of this would be possible without the incredible work of Mrs McGowan, who has once again championed our involvement in the State School Spectacular. We thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication in preparing our team for their performances. A special thank you also to Mrs Walton, who provided such valuable support in the lead-up to the event, and to the many other staff members and families who have supported rehearsals, worked behind the scenes and enthusiastically cheered our students on during their performances. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy and support of everyone involved in making this such a wonderful opportunity for our students.
We look forward to seeing the broadcast on channel 7, later in the year!
Regency Certainly Does Have Talent!
In another nod to our Performing Arts program, this week we hosted our Regency’s Got Talent performances, and the talent on display was nothing short of extraordinary! From musical instruments and dancing to magic tricks and singing, the range of talent was incredible. It certainly brought our new school value of Courage to life. Getting up on stage and performing in front of such a large audience takes a great deal of courage. It also takes courage to put yourself forward in the first place, and we congratulate all of our students who bravely performed at the classroom level before progressing to the final performances.
Thank you to all the families who came along to support our talented students, as well as those who have assisted with the many rehearsals along the way. A special thank you to Mike Meeking for his organisation of the event, and to Mr Kelly, Ms Hawkins and Miss Fraser for their fantastic work as MCs.
Well done to all of our performers. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves!
Book Week
What a way to kick off the week, with our Book Week Costume Parade! A much-loved primary school rite of passage, Regency Park was transformed into a vibrant celebration of creativity, with students and staff alike bringing their favourite book characters to life.
Throughout the week, we have enjoyed reading the CBCA 2026 shortlisted books and taking part in fun activities that celebrate our love of reading. Thank you to the families and staff for supporting this special event.
Hats are Back!
A friendly reminder that school hats are required from the 1st September as we move into the warmer months. From next week, students without a school hat will be required to remain in the designated undercover areas during outdoor play and activities. School hats are available for purchase from the school office or through our uniform supplier, Spartan.

Hair Reminder
You may have seen our Compass post earlier this week regarding the occurrence of head lice at school. This is a timely reminder that, in line with our Dress Code and Uniform Policy, shoulder-length or longer hair must be tied back at all times while at school.
Tying hair back helps to reduce the spread of head lice and also supports student safety while playing and participating in activities in the yard. We appreciate everyone’s support in helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all students.
Happy News – Welcome to the world, Beau!
We are very happy to share that we have heard from Jayde Cairns, who welcomed her beautiful baby boy, Beau, on 28th August.
We are delighted to report that both Mum and baby are doing well. A huge congratulations to Jayde and Daniel on the arrival of their gorgeous little boy! We send our warmest wishes to them all as they enjoy this very special time together.

We are excited to be preparing for the launch of our very own Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service in partnership with TeamKids. The service will commence on the first day of Term 4, Monday 5 October, and we are pleased to share that a number of families have already registered.
As we move closer to the launch, there is an important opportunity for families to learn more about the service.

2026 Parent Payment via COMPASS
Instructions for making your payment will be provided from the office via Compass with the step-by-step guide for use on your phone or computer.
Punctuality in consent & payments on COMPASS
Thank you to all of our families who have already paid their family contributions. Please see our Business Manager, if you would like to undertake a payment plan for upcoming school costs.
Please note payments for the majority of school events/excursions will be processed via COMPASS.
Throughout the year there are many payments to be made for excursions, camps and swimming. It is very important that these payments are paid by the due date.
All events that require permission and payment will need to be made by the due date if you wish your child to participate.
Only in very extreme circumstances will we be able to process payments after this date, even if the excursion has not yet happened.
Unfortunately, this means your child misses out on the event.
From experience I know that parents can be quite upset when this occurs, so I ask you to be aware of this process and ensure that consent and payments are made via COMPASS on time.
If you have trouble accessing COMPASS or completing payments, please see our office staff who can assist you with the process.
Excitement and Tries Galore at the NRL Rugby League Gala Day!
Our students recently tackled a fantastic day of sport at the Knox Division Rugby League Gala Day, proudly run by the NRL. Regency Park Primary School was incredibly well represented on the field, fielding three energetic boys’ teams and one outstanding girls’ team.
It was a fast-paced and action-packed day for everyone involved. Each of our four teams played four matches in total, showcasing incredible teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. The games were absolute thriller spectacles, featuring excellent running, brilliant passing, and lots of spectacular tries scored throughout the day! The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement from the very first whistle to the final siren.
A huge thank you to Mrs Bertrand and Mrs Quarmby for giving up their time to help coach, guide, and inspire our teams on the sidelines. We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the many families who came along to cheer and support our students—your wonderful encouragement made the day even more memorable for our players.
Congratulations to all our rugby league stars for representing our school so proudly!
